Pizza Dough

The most important part of any pie is the crust. After trying countless recipes, this has become my go-to recipe. This pie crust is so easy to make, you’ll never go back to buying store-bought pie crust again!

Prep Time: 25 minutes | Cook Time: 3 hours | Servings: 2 pizza crust

Ingredients

  • ¼ ounce of active-dry yeast (1 package)

  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar

  • 1½ cups warm water

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1¼ teaspoon salt

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ½ cup warm water, sugar, and yeast. Quickly stir. Allow to sit for 10 minutes until yeast mixture becomes foamy.

  2. Add the remaining 1 cup warm water, olive oil, salt, and flour. Stir until combined.

  3. Remove dough from mixing bowl and knead on a floured surface for 8 minutes.

  4. Shape dough into a ball.

  5. Place dough in a greased mixing bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and place bowl in a warm location for 2 hours.

  6. Punch dough down after rising and divide into 2 portions.

  7. Cover and let dough rest for 15 minutes.

  8. Stretch dough out into 11 - 14 inch circles. Transfer dough to parchment paper.

  9. Brush dough with olive oil and add desired toppings.

  10. Bake pizza in preheated oven at 475 degrees for 11 - 14 minutes.
