Pizza Dough
The most important part of any pie is the crust. After trying countless recipes, this has become my go-to recipe. This pie crust is so easy to make, you’ll never go back to buying store-bought pie crust again!
Prep Time: 25 minutes | Cook Time: 3 hours | Servings: 2 pizza crust
Ingredients
¼ ounce of active-dry yeast (1 package)
2 teaspoons granulated sugar
1½ cups warm water
3 tablespoons olive oil
1¼ teaspoon salt
3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, combine ½ cup warm water, sugar, and yeast. Quickly stir. Allow to sit for 10 minutes until yeast mixture becomes foamy.
Add the remaining 1 cup warm water, olive oil, salt, and flour. Stir until combined.
Remove dough from mixing bowl and knead on a floured surface for 8 minutes.
Shape dough into a ball.
Place dough in a greased mixing bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and place bowl in a warm location for 2 hours.
Punch dough down after rising and divide into 2 portions.
Cover and let dough rest for 15 minutes.
Stretch dough out into 11 - 14 inch circles. Transfer dough to parchment paper.
Brush dough with olive oil and add desired toppings.
Bake pizza in preheated oven at 475 degrees for 11 - 14 minutes.
