Brown Sugar Cookies

Brown Sugar Cookies

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cook Time: 10 minutes | Servings: 24 cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened 

  • 1 ½ cup dark brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon molasses

  • 1 egg, plus 1 additional egg yolk

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. In a medium mixing bowl whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  4. In a large mixing bowl cream butter, sugar, and molasses together for about four minutes until light and fluffy.

  5. Add egg, yolk, and vanilla extract, beat for 1 minute.

  6. At a low speed, add flour mixture until just incorporated.

  7. Form 1 ½ tablespoon balls.

  8. Place cookie dough balls onto baking sheet about 1.5 inches apart.

  9. Bake for 5 minutes.

  10. Rotate pan and bake for an additional 5 minutes.

  11. Remove cookies from baking pan and let cool on wire rack.
