Flour Tortillas
Prep Time: 30 minutes | Cook Time: 25 minutes | Servings: 16 tortillas
Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
⅓ cup vegetable oil
1 cup warm water
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder.
Add vegetable oil and warm water to the flour mixture. Stir until mixture forms a ball.
Transfer dough to a well floured surface and divide into 16 equal pieces.
Shape each piece into a ball.
Cover dough and let rest for 20 minutes.
After dough has rested, on a lightly floured surface, roll each tortilla into a 6 inch diameter circle.
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
Place tortilla in heated pan. Let cook for 1 minute or until the surface of the tortilla starts to bubble and the bottom.
Flip tortilla and cook on the other side for 30 seconds.
